Contemporânea is a monthly online magazine founded by Celina Brás in April 2015. Dedicated to the dissemination of contemporary art, it is a space open to critical thought, which promotes the understanding of contemporary art practices and their inscription on a global context.
Its main aim is the promotion and dissemination of contemporary art produced in Portugal, while taking into account other perspectives within the greater scope of contemporary artistic practices that privilege debate and critical reflection.
The magazine publishes reviews, essays, interviews and various reflections on contemporary art. It features artists' projects and includes a weekly art Agenda.
The printed version of Contemporânea magazine appears for the first time in February 2018, as a thematic object, with the aim of creating curatorial editions. To this end, an invitation is sent to a specific curator, in order to publish differentiated contents, privileging unique formats and visions, according to the specificity of each theme.
